14th-Dec-2009 08:16 pm - concert coming soon!
band

Hi all!

I always admire professional musicians, they play concerts every week, how nice is that! I love concerts! I get to meet many people who I don't meet often. I get to share music. I get to share happiness. I get to receive many many flowers! How lovely! It is a joyous occasion. Everyone is happy, and the concert hall is always more than just a pretty place to take memorable pictures. I love concerts, wahahha!

Anyway, I went for band in the morning yesterday, reached quite early, then managed to practise a while before band started. Since it was the second rehearsal after my exams, it was better than the first. I sounded better already! I was happy to see Mr Wong and I asked him some advice for my little junior, since some trombone tutor (coughs) who is going to be our assistant conductor, has no idea how to advice on her. How capable!

Actually, Jezer and I just pull through our braces years while we were in nasband. Even though it was so painful and all, everything was all so worthwhile at the end of the day. My smile became so brilliant, my playing gone up to another level too! Certainly, wearing braces is actually a good training for brass players. I am not kidding. Just like sportsman taking weights for their training, we also can experience such liabilities while playing, such that when we play normally, we will sound great.

After band practice, I napped a while in my room first before going to have dinner at Jurong Point. Nothing much lah, I walked around the gigantic shopping mall. I bought a green colour tube! $5 only, hahahaha! The green colour looked very fresh and sweet. YAY! I declare I own tubes of all colours!! Wahahaha.

We bought some sushi for supper but ended up we were too tired to have supper. We went to sleep early! So we had sushi for breakfast instead! However, only a few turned up for hall 9 volleyball training, how disappointing! The training was then cancelled.

I went to student service centre after that to do my tuition loan. Hai I really hate to do this. What is there to loan lai loan qu when you are not that poor? Just for more bank interest over a few years? So sacrifice your moral for all that? People these days don't feel anything bad about borrowing money. Oh, because there is no interest! (Oh yah, so?) Grrr...

So after doing those admin stuff we took the train back to Tampines. We had Popeye for lunch! Actually the food was Long John Silver food, but it was cooked in a KFC style. Yet, it was not as tasty as KFC, but the price was up to the top. Meals costing $7+! After eating I went to the bank and wait for daddy. After getting the things done then we went home.

Nothing else happened le, today so boring! Mafia wars also down again! GRRR!! I am going to sleep early, good night!

Hi all.

Just like every weekend during school days, I will go home to see my family since I have not seen them for a week. Then, we could spend time together, laughing away, and have the most delicious meals in the world for our lunch and dinner.

Yet, all these never happen. Most of the time I regret going home. Now, since I have no school, I got to be home everyday. All the nagging and scolding over trivial matters have become real life, how bad can it be?

Since I will be home for the whole of IA, all the way until my year 4 semester starts, I can see myself living with so much bitterness for the rest of my university years... since I am not even sure if I will get hall when I am year 4.

I will just wait for him to set me free... till then.

Hi all, do you miss me?

Come on, this blog is not dead ok, I have finally come to revive it.

Exams are finally over. Some papers I did well, some papers were so hard that I hope the moderation will help me. Really, all this studying is making me cry. I probably cried at least half the time I was studying. All the rush to complete the things I need to know, the papers to do, the tutorials which were long overdue... The sleeping time has also been pushing backwards until we saved a day's sleep by the exam ends.

Chun Kiat was really nice in helping me with my studies and my senseless crying. My friends too have really been comforting. Thank you everyone. I couldn't have come so far without all of you. However, some people, you know, people who are so close to me, like my family members, they only bother about trivial matters when it comes to exam. All the naggings about sleeping enough and sleeping right, eating the right food and eating at the right time, all adding to my stress level. Whenever I see my hand phone ringing I couldn't help but to feel annoyed.

Give this girl who is already 21 years old some break especially when she is having exams ok. I have been putting up with these naggings all my life, swallowing everything that they accused me of, swallowing all their criticisms, plus their "oh wow how nice" kind of assurance that "you know, your family is always behind you.".

Catching up with school work, attending all classes, finishing all tutorials, getting up early everyday, not to feel sleepy during classes. This is not as easy as you think.

I have never hate studying so much in my life. When I was young, I studied, then I will do well in my school exams. Unfortunately, dunno why major exams like psle and o levels like to screw up. While I put in really so much effort for them, getting top the class in every mid years and end of years, my motivation to study decreased. In my JC years, it was the first time that I start to dislike studying because I know my a level would not turn out to be what I expect.

By some stroke of luck, I did well, very surprisingly. Considering the amount of effort I put in, and all the last minute studying. Now I know what makes me feel good about studying: putting the least effort, yet getting the maximum possible results.

Of course, I didn't really never put in any effort at all in my ntu years. I have been studying very hard, but not as hard as the past when I was in primary school and secondary school. I want to reduce the kind of disappointment whenever I see a lousy grade, so I refrain from putting too much effort studying. I just study at the right pace and be the very normal.

But the truth is that, some people are just more lucky than the others. There is no idea why! I finish all tutorials, do a few past year papers, doing well for tests, understand all the important concepts, do the paper happily during exam. Yet, the grades always look really bad. I really don't know what to say. I am just unlucky? The only thing that keeps me going will be, I believe that if I never study that hard, my grade could have been even worse.

As years went by, I mug so hard and always end up getting lousy grades, and irritating profs accuse me of not studying enough, annoying parents accuse me of playing too much. My love for studying from young has greatly diminished. See what you guys have done to me? Does it hurt, just to be more encouraging?

I really wonder why people these days like to put others down, just to boost their ego. Is this kind of pride really important? What is becoming of people nowadays, especially the older generation?

You guys claimed to be experienced, and always seeing our problems with a pinch of salt. You think you know about everything we are going through. You never try to be understanding. You just assume, assume, assume. Putting me into your own shoes while you were studying when you were young. Why not, put yourself into my shoes?

As much as myself showing respect, I swallow, swallow, swallow. When can I break free?

There needs to have some balance. If the older generation believes that only they have the rights to open their mouths and not us, I will continue to live in the dark. My hatred towards all of you, and all my studying, will grow. I wonder now, what is the reason for my crazy mugging. Is it to prove to the old people that I am not as lazy as they think? Or really for my own future?

Enough said, I am supposed to be happy that exams are over and its time to enjoy. Haha.

22nd-Aug-2009 11:12 pm - slimmer me
school

Hi everyone.

I got so sick for the whole week that I have lost 2kg at least, figure also perfected, no more tummy, meaning I can be super model now, hahaha! Ok lah, thats not the point. I haven't recover yet. Hai. Tuesday got IBG volleyball!! I wanna go!! I don't care!! T_T

I went to school on Monday night. Silly head forced me to cab there. Actually I wasn't feeling very well. But anyway, his roomie was really very nice. He told me to drink his honey. =)

Tuesday morning was another terrible one, bad headache when I woke up. He got to massage my head really long before I agreed to get up. After I went to brush teeth, I lied down again. Hai. Later on, I realised the goodie bag timing was coming so some strange energy pushed me to change clothes and went to N3 to queue up for MAE goodie bags!! =D

After the goodie bag, we had lunch and get my ezlink card changed, then I arrived just in time for the clinic opening after lunch. After seeing doctor I went back and sleep somemore lol. I went for lessons on Wednesday, because only 2 hours. Then we also went to buy books. The vibration book cost $55.50! Hai. Wednesday I had a bad night because I couldn't sleep well. =( When I lied down, I kept coughing non stop. When I never lie down, then I stop coughing. Like that how to sleep? I only managed to sleep when I saw the morning sun...

So I woke up for lunch, then went for lessons again. I got so tired by the night that I managed to sleep well until morning. No more headaches after I woke up so I assumed fever went down already.

Friday got lab. The jet engine! WOW!! I saw the fire. Haha. However, the engine very noisy. They put silencer but the noise still cannot make it one. People put ear plugs. I put double layer protection, ear plugs and ear defenders! Haha. I protect my ears with my life.

After lab I went to see doctor again after lunch because I was running out of medicine. Then by some luck she managed to measure a temperature of 38 degrees from me then she got worried and gave me a lot of medicine. Since I fever, don't spread to others lor, then I never go lesson. I went back to the room preparing to pack up go home.

I slept on the train on his shoulder. So sweet. =)

This morning I went out with my dad to get my passport. I was worried that they might have some temperature sensor which can detect I got fever. I took some fever medicine before I went. Luckily they never put that sensor anymore. I got my passport smoothly then we took the train back. Daddy say he wanted to go to M1 shop to ask them questions and see phones, so we made a trip to Tampines Mall first before going home.

I took 1 hour to eat lunch I think. These days I have been eating very little and slowly, then later I will da bian everything out, lol. After a while, he came to teach me study. =) I still do not feel very alert until now. I can only study and understand very slowly. I managed to finish 1 tutorial which looked so easy. 1 week do 1 tutorial, but I got 5 tutorials every weekin total. How to catch up lol, hahaha...

I hope my cough will go away soon. Fever not a problem... Coughs are irritating. That medicine like quite strong leh, I cough less now. I have been eating so much medicine that my hands and legs are shaking. Hai. So weak. Recover soon! I wanna play volleyball on Tuesday!

Good night, take care everyone!

Hello everyone!

I woke up to go to check in for hall on Saturday. There was a long queue when I got there because the orientation groups were also checking in at the same time. After I finished collecting the keys, which became card keys by now (haha), I found my dad waiting for me outside my room waiting to go inside for cleaning. My dad did a great job of carrying things up to 6th floor and also cleaning up the entire room. Thank you very much!

The room remained the same layout. Bigger tables with drawers which were close to being useless. A bed with drawers of different heights which there were no explanation for the different heights design. I prefer the old table and bed but I like the big table, haha. Air con was wrapped up to prevent us from using, thanks NTU.

I was also done arranging the things before we went to have lunch at can 9 in the afternoon. After finishing the last bit of things, my dad went home while Chun Kiat and I went out to Jurong Point.

It has been a long time since we went to Jurong Point! We never did much lah, I bought Ayumi Hamasaki Countdown live 08-09 at gramophone. We had dinner at Nihon Mura under my house before he sent me home. Delicious udon, yay!

On Sunday, he came to my house. We watched the dvd together. It was a long concert of almost 4 hours. She was so good to sing all the way till the end, must have been tiring! We watched the Snoopy dvd at night. WAHHHH so cute. I love PEANUTS!!

I ordered Pizzahut for dinner actually. It was a national day special to buy a supreme pizza and get a family favourites pizza for free. So it was even cheaper than the $19.90 for 2 pizzas special! The regular supreme pizza only cost $18.50! There was also this coupon that said $6.90 for 10 sweet 'n' spicy drumlets. So in total we ordered an Hawaiian Supreme Pizza , Ocean Catch Pizza, and 10 sweet 'n' spicy drumlets. The bill totalled up to be only $21.70 after GST!

Why? Well it was because they said they were busy and they couldn't deliver to my house, and asked if I could pick it up at a branch at Tampines. It gave me a 20% discount because of that, and no more extra $2 delivery charge. WOW YAY!!

However, once we got there, they were so busy that I waited for a long time queuing and waiting for them to finish cooking. Anyway, the food was great, everyone was happy, so all the waiting has been worthwhile. =)

Not to forget: HAPPY NATIONAL DAY! For those who actually celebrate it, haha.

Today, I woke up for lunch then went out to hall with Chun Kiat. Both of us brought a lot of things so we were carrying heavy bags! But he was so nice he carried my bag also. Hehe. After putting down our stuffs, we went out to Jurong Point to have dinner at Pepper Lunch. He bought a rose for me! =D

For us missing 许留山, we went to this dessert place in Jurong Point called 记得吃甜品 (Ji De Chi Dessert). We ordered this Durian thingy with Pomelo and Sago.

It cost only $6!! We shared it. It contained the best part of the durian, which is the soft soft paste-like durian meat. The pomelo's slight bitterness cured the very sweetness of the durian. The sago gave this dessert some texture. I got to say this is perfect! Of course, the menu also contained other mango pudding alike desserts, all for [info]gniygniygnoehc to find out...

The durian gave us the heaty feeling so we decided to buy herbal tea for ourselves. We bought an ultimate bitter herbal tea by mistake. It tasted like poison but thanks to the dessert place which allowed us to get some honey... But we still threw half the bottle away in the end.

Call us stupid or not, we went back hall and craved for sweets. Now, it called for the end of today and I am going to bed soon.

I wish I can have some good luck this semester because I had none so far. School is starting soon. I miss my friends! Good night everyone!

26th-Jul-2009 11:51 pm - cousins!!

Hello all!

One more day before I see Chun Kiat! AHHH!!

Today I met my cousin Jodie out to go to the Hong Kong book exhibition. We took train there and followed the big crowd to the exhibition hall. So many people! But probably half of them came to see those 靓模, aka those short and young models in Hong Kong who think they are big shots.

We met another cousin of ours who gave us the working pass which enabled us to cut queue way into the hall! HAHA!! It was quite a boring place actually. When I found books which I felt I might be interested, then I thought of that book at home which I have not been reading for ages. I never had time to read books anyway. We walked around then said bye bye to 表哥. This is what my cousins and I look like!!

cousins!

After that we went to 葵芳 and I bought a hairband, only hkd 20! I saw the same one at Mong Kok for hkd 45 lor... So after that we went back to Tsuen Wan to eat 扒王之王 (King of Steak). I didn't eat steak though, I had some pork neck ribs, got drinks, soup and dessert. SO DELICIOUS only $71. The same thing in Singapore would cost S$30!! Haha. After that I saw her boyfriends, acting shy, so funny. Then I took bus home.

I am very happy to get to know my cousin more. We talked very much about the past happy times, funny and memorable all the way from baby till primary school. I realised I miss her a lot and she is really nice. Love her lots!

25th-Jul-2009 11:45 pm - last minute shopping!
default

Hello all!

Today, my dad and I went out to have afternoon tea at 大家乐. I had a huge drumstick with wing and corn, my dad had a very nice jammed bread with shark fin soup. After eating, we walked around Tsuen Wan for last minute shopping. I bought a dress, a few tubes and a few tights. I also helped my mother bought the strawberry bags, haha!

After shopping, we went to find 姑姑 and I helped 姑丈 to fix his computer. Not really fixing lah, just updated his anti virus program and made everything work, and beautiful! After being at his house for a while, my dad brought me out for late dinner at the sushi place. We had a lot of sashimi. All of which I forgot the names by now. Very good place for Japanese food at cheap prices after 9.30pm. We bought sake wine at the supermarket before that so we drank it with the sashimi. However, the 20% alcohol was making my dad giddy but he still managed to send me back home, haha!

My dad, since he was a bit drunk, talked a lot all the way till 2.30am. The good thing would be he told me he found out that I have grown up so much and he was very happy about it.

I actually didn't celebrate my 21 birthday very much, because I felt that I am being treated like a child in my family. So since my dad felt that I have grown up, that would be my best belated 21 birthday present. I felt great now. =)

21st-Jul-2009 03:40 pm - second day of recre-ing!

Hi all!

My dad went out to do some stuffs and I was waiting for him at home yesterday. I went out of the house at about 5+, by myself! I felt so accomplished lah, even though it was just getting out and taking train by myself to Tsim Sha Tsui. It was just as simple as getting out of my Singapore home to Cityhall, hahahaha! So silly.

I helped my friend bought the camera bag le, and my dad also bought a camera bag for himself. Of course not those big big bag but just a small pouch since the camera is those small small normal digital camera. After that we walked to the Space Museum but the tickets for the show which is going to start in 10 min were sold out. Actually I am not interested in space lah. After that we went to take Star Ferry to Central.

I had subway! OMG!!

We went inside a very pretty shopping mall, took a few photos inside too! After that we went to take Hong Kong Tramways to Admiralty to find the Ocean Park bus. After finding out that I got to be MTR club member to enjoy ocean park ticket discount, we went back.

We had some sushi and sashimi for late dinner before we went home.

I registered as MTR club member! Haha.

My dad went out to his favourite place again today, so I am alone at home. I want to try add a few pages in this blog so that I can have some links to my favourite websites. Lets see how to do it...

Take care everyone! =)

19th-Jul-2009 07:23 pm - recre-ing

Hello all!

Right after I wrote the previous entry, my dad opened the door. He came back!

We went out yesterday. We had lunch yamcha with grandma outside our house, then daddy and I went to Mong Kok to help my dad run some errands. We took the train to Tsim Sha Tsui. I wanted to help my friend buy camera bag but the aunti was quite rude and I wasn't sure what colour he wants... so we didn't buy.

Then I found out how to walk from hotel to the A21 bus stops! Hehe. I also sort of found out how to get to star ferry. I hope I still remember! The weather was very hot so we bought ice cream! Hahaha! Ice cream was very delicious in a weather like this... After getting to Central, we walked around finding bus stops and bus numbers to get to Stanley market and Victoria Peak. My dad then brought me to take the Hong Kong Tramways to Causeway Bay. In Causeway Bay, we walked around, taking pictures of pretty shopping malls, then we were tired already.

We had dinner at this Japanese place that has 25% off after 9pm. It was a late dinner so we were quite hungry. The udon was disappointing but the sashimi was really nice. The salmon pieces were big and thick. When I was eating the salmon, I felt as if I was eating literally raw fish, quite disgusting, haha! After eating, we took bus home.

Looking at the news, the tropical cyclone was getting very near Hong Kong. At about 12am, it was already no8 warning signal. At 2am, it was no9. I read a forum online today, and I saw many weather enthusiast were predicting and discussing about the typhoon. After reading through the whole thread, I have learnt something new! That made me really happy...

By the time I slept at 2am, it was warning signal no9 with red heavy rain signal. After that, the forum people stayed on and were waiting for no10 signal. However, because Hong Kong was too small to contain the typhoon, the no10 force passed by too quickly such that Hong Kong Observatory didn't issue no10 warning. When Hong Kong Observatory issued no8 warning, the people went to sleep with disappointment! Haha. Anyway, everyone there was excited because the last time a no9 warning was issued was in 2003. There was also a typhoon hunter who took pictures and videos. There were also people who can just open their house window and measure air pressure and wind speed. So interseting!

While they were at their discussion so late at night, I couldn't get to sleep... I only get to sleep when the sky became bright. So suay lor. So today I woke up and felt really tired. Staring at the ceiling and windows, I could hear the sound of the strong wind even when all the windows in my house were closed. I could hear the sound of objects hitting walls and falling. So scary!! For today, I am going to sleep early!

By now, the typhoon is at Guang Zhou, China. Lets hope that it won't cause too much destruction and it will disappear soon.

I have made some changes to the itinerary but I didn't update the one in this blog yet. I should be going out again tomorrow to finish up the rest of my recre, to ensure a smooth trip next week. Yes! It is going to be next week. I can see Chun Kiat very soon!!! =D

Lastly...

ALL THE BEST to NANYANG POLYTECHNIC SYMPHONIC BAND in WORLD MUSIC CONTEST FIRST DIVISION (HARMONY SECTION). WOOHOOO!!

Take care everyone!!
